Maundy Thursday takes its name from the Latin word mandatum, meaning “commandment.” On this sacred day, we remember Jesus’ new commandment to his disciples: “Love one another as I have loved you.”
This service invites us to reflect on Christ’s example of humble service and self-giving love, seen in his washing of the disciples’ feet and the sharing of the Last Supper. It is a time to enter into the heart of Holy Week, remembering how Jesus called his followers to serve one another with compassion, grace, and humility.
