Matthew Kallio, Music Director

Hello, Grace Presbyterian Church! My name is Matthew Kallio, and I’m delighted to join this community as your Music Director.

My musical journey began at the age of eight through studies with Canada’s Royal Conservatory of Music, leading to post-secondary training at Cambrian College (Diploma in Piano Performance) and Acadia University (Bachelor of Music in Piano/Organ).

I’ve spent over 20 years as a professional musician and educator, teaching privately and at the college level, while performing across Canada as a pianist, organist, and collaborative musician. My experience includes roles with the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts, King’s Presbyterian Church, and All Saints Anglican Church in Halifax, as well as work with Cambrian College, Laurentian University, and the City of Lakes Music Society in Ontario.

Since moving to Calgary, I’ve enjoyed performing with the Alberta Ballet and teaching in my private studio. I look forward to meeting everyone at Grace and collaborating with our talented musicians to create meaningful and inspiring worship together.
