Session Highlights
At its regular meeting on February 9, the Session:
- opened with worship, reflecting on Matthew 17:1-9, giving thanks for signs of spiritual inspiration and growth in the congregation, and praying for the many who are hurting in this world
- discussed next steps in creating teams to move the strategic plan forward
- appointed Sean Kim as a member of the Finance Committee
- received an update on four facilities projects soon to be underway (West Chapel Doors, Exterior Lighting, Washrooms, Landscaping). More communication with the congregation is planned
- gave thanks for the tremendous work of the Pastoral Care & Connection Committee and encouraged inclusion of families and kids in the Committee's focus
- agreed to recommend to Presbytery that the Rev. Sabino Diok be appointed as a Minister in Association with Grace, recognizing our mutual desire to further our intercultural ministry
- received a report of the suffering in Gambella and South Sudan and agreed to donate $10,000 to the Synod of East Gambella in aid
- considered the draft report from the Presbytery Visitation Team, with no feedback identified
- designated Shirley Philips as a Commissioner to the 2026 General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada in June
- gave thanks for insightful feedback on the recent congregational meeting, and
- closed with prayer for our congregation and beyond, with a benediction.
