Congregational Meeting June 7

Grace Presbyterian Church will hold a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 11:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary, following worship.

Members are encouraged to review the Congregational Meeting Document Package in advance of the meeting. The package includes the meeting agenda, previous congregational meeting minutes, the 2025 unaudited financial report, and other materials related to the meeting’s business.

An important part of this meeting will be the election and reaffirmation of elders who will serve on Session.

Earlier this year, Session invited members of the congregation to prayerfully consider submitting nominations for an elder. By April 5, eleven nominations had been received. Session then confirmed the nominees' suitability and willingness to serve, and all nominees were invited into a time of discernment.

Out of that process, Greg Retzer and Ian Charter each felt a strong sense of call to the office of elder. Members of the congregation will be asked to vote on these nominees using ballots distributed at the meeting.

A second ballot question will ask members to reaffirm two current Session elders, Shirley Philips, Clerk of Session, and Okwayi Obang, for a subsequent term.

Photos and bios of the two elder nominees are provided on the homepage of our website. We encourage members to read them carefully and to pray for Greg, Ian, Shirley, Okwayi, and the congregation as we discern together.

Session would also like to thank Mark Durieux and Mary Jardine, whose terms on Session are coming to an end. Their insight, leadership, and faithfulness have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for their service.
