As a community rooted in trust and integrity, we want to remind everyone to remain vigilant about online scams that sometimes target churches.

Recently, Grace Presbyterian Church became aware of a scam in which someone spoofed Rev. Dr. Chris Joiner’s email address and sent messages to members of the congregation asking them to purchase gift cards on his behalf. These messages were fraudulent and were not sent by Rev. Joiner or anyone on staff.

Please remember that Grace staff will never contact you by email or text asking you to purchase gift cards, send money, or provide personal financial information.

If you receive a message like this, do not reply or click any links; delete the message, and if you are unsure whether it is legitimate, contact the church office directly to confirm.
