Session Highlights
At its regular meeting on March 9, the Session:
• opened with worship, reflecting on Ephesians 5:8-15, giving thanks for spiritual awakenings
• asked the Gratitude & Giving Committee to develop a policy regarding contributions, to ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements and facilitate clarity with donors
• agreed to seek two new Session Elders, with nominations to begin March 15 and close April 5
• discussed a fulsome update from the Engagement & Service Committee, which continues, despite personnel constraints, to deliver successful programs. The Engagement and Service Committee is not short of ideas to meet its mandate, and continues to explore additional opportunities. Projects underway are generally under budget. However, without additional personnel, continuity and succession planning will be challenging.
• reviewed the Spiritual Growth Committee's work over the last year and plans for 2026, giving thanks for the strong ministries for all ages, inclusive of Grace’s Nursery, Kids and Youth programs, Adult faith formation and Family formation. Intergenerational opportunities remain a priority. With the growth in interest in the ministries the Spiritual Growth Committee supports additional leadership is always welcome.
• received a report of the preliminary Q4 2025 financials from the Treasurer and other reports for information
• expressed gratitude for the growing spiritual awareness in Grace and ourmany blessings, while remembering patience is also a gift
• closed with a benediction.
