Preaching Grace 2026: The Cost of Ambition
What if the drive to succeed is quietly making you worse?
This September, Grace Presbyterian Church welcomes Yale theologian Miroslav Volf to Calgary for a weekend of public lecture, interactive workshop, and Sunday morning worship — exploring the spiritual and personal cost of ambition in a world that never stops measuring our worth.
Drawing on his latest book, The Cost of Ambition, Volf invites us to consider what it means to pursue excellence without being consumed by comparison, competition, and status.
Friday's public lecture and Sunday worship are free and open to all. Saturday's full-day workshop includes a catered lunch and a dedicated Q&A time with Dr. Volf. Early Bird tickets are available until August 15.

Planning with Purpose for End of Life
Some of the most important conversations in life are also the ones we tend to put off.
Join us on Saturday, May 30, from 9:00 am–12:00 pm at Grace Presbyterian Church for a thoughtful Learn & Lunch gathering as we explore how to plan with care and clarity for the future. Together, we’ll walk through practical steps around funeral planning, key legal considerations, and questions surrounding medical assistance in dying.
In a supportive, welcoming space, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect, ask questions, and feel better prepared for the conversations that matter most.
Biblical Greek Crash Course
What if Scripture holds more than what you see on the page? This four-week Biblical Greek Crash Course invites you to explore how meaning is shaped by grammar, vocabulary, and structure—revealing layers often lost in translation. No prior experience required.
